Once a year, American families get together to enjoy turkey, pumpkin pie, parades. But what is Thanksgiving?
Thanksgiving is a holiday celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November in the USA.In 1620, pilgrims went to America to escape religious persecution. Indians helped them to find or grow food. On Thanksgiving, American people say thank you for the food they have. Families have a big dinner. On that day there are also parades and American football games. As you probably noticed, there is a Thanksgiving tree at school. If you want to learn more about this tradition, you can read and listen to this nice picture book read aloud. Enjoy!
And if you haven't had the opportunity to write your thank you note on the tree, you can write a comment to say thank you to anyone or to say what you are thankful for.
